How to stop Facebook from chirping when you scroll

Anyone can disable the chirping sound effect in settings on the mobile app. Here are step-by-step instructions:

  1. Open the Menu by clicking the bottom right button of the Facebook app.
  2. Under Settings and Privacy, click the Settings button.
  3. Click the Media button under Preferences.
  4. Under Sounds, toggle the In-App Sound to off.

Turning off the "In-App Sound" feature will end the chirping as well as the noises users hear when pressing the Like, Comment and Share buttons. But don't worry, users will still be able to hear sound from videos.
